Re-thinking Mental Health: Workplace Equity for Communities of Color

As the Covid-19 pandemic has shifted the way we work, businesses are assessing and reconsidering the ways they support the mental health and wellbeing of their employees. In the 2nd installment of our spring “Re-thinking Mental Health” Speaker Series, our expert panel brought focus to the mental health challenges experienced by communities of color and how they impact today’s workforce.

Panelists included Dr. Tara Doaty – Sage Wellness Group, Dr. Anthony Jenkins – Coppin State University, and Kimberly Prescott – Prescott HR. During the session, our panel discussed the importance of creating equitable, inclusive, and healthy workplaces. They explore both short and long-term approaches, from employee benefits and employee resource groups, to expanding access to care by encouraging more people of color to enter the behavioral health field.
