HCAM is pleased to announce the election of four new members to the Board of Directors. They include:
- Stephanie Brown, Hartman Executive Advisors
- Fred Cooper, Window Nation
- Cheryl Jones, Chesapeake Regional Information System for our Patients (CRISP)
- Nico Washington, the University of Maryland, Universities at Shady Grove
HCAM’s Board of Directors provide strategic focus and guidance to advance HCAM’s mission. The Board is comprised of dedicated community and business leaders from a range of industries, including healthcare, finance, law, and workforce development. The newly elected members bring to this role experience in business, human resources, higher education, and technology.

Stephanie Brown, a Senior IT Advisor at Hartman Executive Advisors, works with clients to assess their current IT ecosystem, needs and challenges in order to provide tailored recommendations and practical guidance from seasoned, C-level IT leaders to optimize business performance and prepare for future growth. Stephanie is a veteran Program Manager with over 20 years of experience in the Non-Profit, Post-Acute Care, and Long-Term Care industries, where she has experience leading complex projects. She also has a clinical background in social work, gerontology, and sociology.
Fred Cooper, the Chief Financial Officer of Window Nation, is a seasoned executive with over 25 years of financial experience having held senior leadership positions at several Fortune 500 companies including Coca-Cola, Black & Decker, and Prudential. Fred earned his B.S. in Accounting from The American University and his J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law. Throughout his career he has served on boards and advised several non-profit organizations including the Baltimore Museum of Industry, Greater Homewood Community Corporation and the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland.
Cheryl Jones joined CRISP, the Regional Health Information Exchange serving Maryland and DC, in 2009 upon the organizations founding. In her current role as the Sr. Director of Human Resources, she directs all operations within the Department, including talent acquisition and retention, performance management, employee relations, benefits administration, and vendor management. Prior to joining CRISP, Cheryl was employed by Erickson Living. Her several positions within the organization included serving as an internal Six Sigma Consultant, a Senior Business Analyst, and a Human Resources Manager. Earlier in her career, Cheryl served as a Healthcare Consultant with BearingPoint (now Deloitte).
Nico Washington is currently the Chief Operating Officer and CFO at The University of Maryland, Universities at Shady Grove (USG). Ms. Washington has over 32 years of experience in executive support for finance, accounting, budget planning, strategic planning, project management, leadership, and administration. Ms. Washington has spent the last 20 years of her higher education career with the University System of Maryland (USM) at UMBC and USG. Ms. Washington previously served as Associate Provost for Financial Management and Chief of Staff at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC).
