On September 23rd, HealthCare Access Maryland, in partnership with the Greater Baltimore Committee, led a conversation with community and business leaders on issues of health equity in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Panelists joining the discussion included: Cara James, Grantmakers in Health; Dr. Michelle Gourdine, University of Maryland Medical System; Andy Attman, Acme Paper & Supply Co.; Ruth Williams-Brinkley, Kaiser Permanente Mid-Atlantic States; and Angela Celestin, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield.
The panel engaged in a robust conversation about the ways in which health equity is tied to the success of any business or organization. They also shared action steps and practices that businesses can implement, like flexible work schedules, making resource information available, and providing supports to employees with children.
